*HAEMATOLOGY/BGS
Haematology is the branch of medicine concerning the study of blood, the blood-forming organs, and blood diseases. Hematology tests include laboratory assessments of blood formation and blood disorders.Hematological tests can evaluate numerous conditions involving blood and its components. They can also be used to diagnose inflammation, anemia, infection, hemophilia, blood-clotting disorders, leukemia, and response to chemotherapy, among many other things.
COAGULATION STUDIES
Coagulation tests: measure your blood’s ability to clot, and how long it takes to clot. Testing can help your doctor assess your risk of excessive bleeding or developing clots (thrombosis) somewhere in your blood vessels.
CARIDIOTOCOGRAPHY
Cardiotocography (CTG) is a continuous recording of the fetal heart rate obtained via an ultrasound transducer placed on the mother’s abdomen. CTG is widely used in pregnancy as a method of assessing fetal well‐being, predominantly in pregnancies with increased risk of complications.
MICROBIOLOGY
Isolates and identifies clinically significant microorganisms from clinical specimens and performs antimicrobial susceptibility testing on these bacterial pathogens. While many microbes are harmless to humans, others can cause serious problems. They can spoil food, introduce toxins, cause disease and lead to a host of other problems. The importance of microbiological testing is to quickly identify these contaminants and treat them before they do irreversible damage.
ENDOCRINOLOGY
To find out the levels of various hormones in a patient’s body. To check if the endocrine glands are working correctly. To identify the cause of an endocrinological problem To confirm an earlier diagnosis. An endocrine test can help diagnose a variety of specialities and hormonal diseases.
PARASITOLOGY
By using a simple at-home stool or Urine sample , the Parasitology test is a direct examination of stool for ova and parasites (O&P) in order to determine the presence of parasites and/or their eggs in the gastrointestinal tract. O&P is considered the gold standard of diagnosis for many parasites.
Ultrasound scan
An ultrasound scan, sometimes called a sonogram, is a procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of part of the inside of the body. An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor an unborn baby, diagnose a condition, or guide a surgeon during certain procedures
X-ray
An X-ray is a quick, painless test that produces images of the structures inside your body — particularly your bones. X-ray beams pass through your body, and they are absorbed in different amounts depending on the density of the material they pass through.
